The Medical Assistant Program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions as medical assistants in a variety of health care settings. Students study the structure and function of the major body systems along with medical terminology, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, computer skills, administrative processes, accounting practices and the processing of medical insurance forms and claims.

ISHC has two convenient locations in Chicago, with a campus in downtown Loop near State Street and Adams, and a campus near O'Hare Airport close to the Kennedy Expressway and the Cumberland blue line exit.
The Loop Campus is located at 11 East Adams Street in downtown Chicago. It is conveniently accessible by public transportation just a few steps off world famous State Street in the "Education Corridor" of the downtown Chicago "Loop." It is close to the Harold Washington Library, the Art Institute of Chicago, Michigan Avenue and Grant Park.
The Cumberland Campus is located at 8750 W. Bryn Mawr, in northwest Chicago near O'Hare Airport. It is conveniently located and easily accessible from the Cumberland exit off the Blue Line or the Kennedy Expressway (I-90).
